Senior Validation Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:                                         
Perform advanced validation of Medical Display and Imaging Routing SW system products. The successful candidate will be responsible for the core validation of embedded software used in medical devices. You will be responsible for designing a new firmware system structure to enhance the manageability and quality of the complex SW system, reviewing, maintaining, developing and documenting validation procedures and test scripts. You will work with China team to coordinate, train and partition work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develop a firmware system structure which manages the complexity of many versions of customized BIOS while maintaining integrity of core SW quality.
• Develop, design and document formal test plans and procedures.
• Develop tests protocols to verify firmware used in medical systems is in compliance with specifications. Test and record any non-compliance in the defect tracking database, and collaborate with developers to resolve.
• Analyze problems and identify alternative solutions and consequences of proposed workarounds.
• Analyze data to ascertain if it meets related protocol acceptance criteria.
• Interface with engineers to verify and replicate reported problems.
• Design, code and maintain scripts/programs to automate test plans.
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Coach, mentor and train team members in China.
• Coordinate work and partition tasks with China team.
• Must be able to lift items not exceeding 60lbs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Requires BS degree in EE, CS or CE.
• 7+ years experience.
• Staff Engineer ranking.
• Experienced in QA & SW validation processes.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Excellent oral & written communication skills.
• Requires working familiarity with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Embedded systems and hardware, software interaction.
• Embedded programming experience a plus.
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin a plus.
• Ability to perform white box as well as black box testing is a plus.
• Release engineering experience is a plus.
• Ability to perform code reviews is a plus.
• Familiarity with SEI Capability Maturity Model is a plus.
