3-D imaging provides physicians the ability to view high-resolution 3-D images greatly enhancing accuracy for surgical navigation. Today, 3-D imaging capabilities, in addition to 2-D fluoroscopic imaging, are a tremendous help to the interventional radiologist for treatment planning while performing a procedure. Using intra-operative 2-D and 3-D imaging systems, navigation within the patient body can be guided by both direct observation and by the radiological images themselves.
3-D imaging offers the potential to increase the accuracy of real-time decision-making, speed up procedures in a multitude of applications and represents a real advance in image-guided intervention. NDS Surgical Imaging's 3-D imaging system enables new procedures not possible today and improves existing procedures through increased speed and greater accuracy.
Benefits:
- Adds a new dimension in planning, safety, and effectiveness to vascular procedures
- Aids the interventional cardiologist in guidance in planning interventions and guiding instruments
- Enables the interventional radiologist to view different angles, see fine detail vasculature and maneuver instruments
- Provides higher-quality information during surgical procedures, allowing greater accuracy than two-dimensional (2-D) imaging.
- Aids the orthopedic surgeon with bone and joint visualization with higher contrast and greater image precision
